Our signature programme, The Woman Within weekend, is a two and a half day immersive experience for women. It is a powerful adventure designed to support both deep self discovery and personal transformation. It is held in a safe, nurturing, and woman only environment. The weekend invites you to explore how your life could be different and to fully know, trust, and live in the power of who you are. The programme is guided, with carefully sequenced sessions that support a gentle descent into your deeper self that allows you to reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been neglected, buried or forgotten. From that place, the journey supports you in an ascent, reclaiming those lost parts and celebrating your wholeness. Sessions include journaling, visualisations, movement, individual sharing, and both small and large group work. The weekend is designed by women, for women, and staffed entirely by women. While this weekend is not a substitute for therapy, many women find it a powerful complement to other forms of personal or therapeutic work.
Yes, the weekend is available to any adult woman (over 18 years of age) regardless of race, sexual orientation, religion or physical ability.
This transformational weekend takes place up to twice a year, offering a rare and powerful opportunity to step away from everyday life and immerse yourself in deep reflection, growth and reawakening.
The weekend starts promptly Friday night at 6pm and finishes no later than 5pm on the Sunday.
Yes. You are welcome to attend the Woman Within weekend with a family member or friend. If you attend together, you can be placed on separate teams for part of the weekend, allowing each of you to have your own individual experience while still being present to support and encourage one another.
No, Woman Within programmes are not tied to any religion, and we do not promote one belief over another. The Weekend draws on a rich blend of practices and experiences from many cultures and traditions around the world.
We understand that it may feel secretive from the outside. In fact, the choice not to share specific details about what happens during the Weekend is an intentional and important part of the process – and part of its magic.
The programme is designed to unfold step by step, with each experience building on then before it. Describing individual sessions out of context would not only be confusing, it could also limit the openness and curiosity that allow the Weekend to work most powerfully.
Every woman’s journey through the Weekend is unique. What one woman experiences or takes away from the weekend may be very different from another, and sharing details in advance can unintentionally create comparison, pressure or disappointment. By keeping the process experienced rather than explained, each woman is free to meet the experience in her own way.
If you feel you would like more information in order to feel safe or supported in making your decision, our Woman Within UK Weekend Registrar is available to answer any questions you may have.
It is an invitation to be curious rather than certain, allowing yourself to fully engage with the experience as its been designed, even when you don’t yet understand where it is leading or feel outside of your comfort zone.
Each Weekend is intentionally kept small to create a safe and supportive environment. There are typically a maximum of 28 participants and 30 staff members, though exact numbers can vary depending on the facilities available at the site being used.
While both programmes share roots in Jungian archetypes, they are designed with very different purposes and participants in mind. Woman Within programmes have been designed by women, specifically for women. Because men and women experience life differently, the structure, content and focus of the programmes are unique to each.
Yes, the Woman Within Weekend is a residential programme. Even if you live only a few minutes away, staying on site is an important part of the experience. Because of the nature of the programme, its depth and benefits are greatly enhanced when all participants remain together on site for the duration of the weekend.
The buildings are non-smoking areas. However, there are breaks when smoking is allowed in the designated areas outside.
Your autonomy, safety and wellbeing are our primary concern throughout the weekend. The staff are there to guide and support you, but your level of participation is always your choice. It’s natural that there may be moments when you feel you would like to leave, this can be a normal part of the process as you encounter emotions and experiences that surface old patterns and reactions.
To ensure that any desire to leave is coming from a place of clarity rather than reaction, we encourage you to discuss your feelings with one of our senior Facilitators, after which you are free to make your own decision.
Financial aid is often available but not a given. Check with the Woman Within UK Weekend Registrar to see if a bursary is available.
Women’s circles are small groups of women that typically meet in homes or online to hear and support each other without judgment or trying to advise or ‘fix’ each other. They usually meet for several hours every one to four weeks, depending on member preferences.
Woman Within offers twice-monthly Open Online Circles, circle training and themed circles, as well as the Sacred Circle Workshop. Read more about these on the Circles page.
In addition, women in the community come together and form their own circles that run independently and may or may not follow Woman Within training guidelines.
To many women, regularly attending their Circle becomes an important touchstone in their lives: it gives them an automatic way to connect to other thoughtful, journeying women. It also carves out several hours of ‘me’ time in what are often overly-busy lives. Importantly, it’s a chance to stop and look at what’s going on in your life on a regular basis, what you feel and think about it – and what you want to do about it.
At Woman Within UK, we do our best to support ongoing Woman Within Circles, however, it depends on where you live and whether there is an active Woman Within community in your area. There is also the opportunity to join or start a virtual Circle.
Find a Circle or Contact our Circle Coordinator
To create a safe, supportive environment in your Circle, we recommend that all Circle members take Woman Within Circle Training, where they can practice listening skills and gain tools that will help them to learn more about themselves when they gather. This training is also a great way to create strong bonds and decide upon norms for your Circle. You may also request an experienced Circle Guide to advise and mentor your Circle as it gets started. Contact the Woman Within UK Circle Coordinator to learn more about this.
Staffing a Woman Within Weekend or one of our other programmes in the UK is a powerful experience in which you support other women as they access the power within themselves. The act of being of service to another person is an ancient tradition; as a staff member, you’ll find that you get many gifts in return: continued growth, new skills and deeper connection with other women. Staffing is a time when you can get to know the women in your community and form deep, lasting friendships. Many women find the staffing experience to be just as powerful or, in some ways, even more powerful, than their initial Weekend.
